1)  Q What time does the school day begin and end for students?
A
School doors open at 7:30AM. Instruction begins at 8:00AM. Students who arrive between 7:30 and 7:50 must report to the gym where they will be provided adult supervision. Dismissal is at 2:30PM.
2)  Q Are parents welcome to volunteer at the school?
A
Parents are encouraged to become involved in their child's school. Fair Grove has a wonderful parent volunteer program. Contact the school office for more information. Parents are also welcome to have lunch with their child. For safety reasons, always report to the office first when you visit campus.
3)  Q Does Fair Grove have a student dress code?
A
Fair Grove students are expected to abide by the county dress code policy. This is included in the Student Handbook. A handbook will be furnished to each student on the first day of school.
4)  Q Can my child attend Fair Grove if we live outside of Davidson County?
A
Fair Grove is unable to accept students who live outside of Davidson County. Students should attend the school located in the district in which they live.
5)  Q Does Fair Grove offer a sports program?
A
Fair Grove does not offer team sports. These are made available through the local Boosters Club. Contact the school office for more information.
6)  Q May parents request a specific teacher for their child?
A
Teacher requests are not accepted. However, parents are given the opportunity to have input into their child's education.
7)  Q Is Fair Grove a strong academic school?
A
At Fair Grove, our goal is to help each child achieve to the best of their potential. Our students score well on state tests. Refer to the DCS website or the NCDPI website athttp://www.ncpublicschools.org for specifics.
8)  Q Is free or reduced lunch available for students?
A
Applications for free or reduced lunch are mailed to each family with a student enrolled in Davidson County Schools over the summer. Applications are also available in the school office.
9)  Q May I check my child out early for an appointment?
A
Parents are discouraged from making appointments for their child during the school day. However, Fair Grove understands that sometimes this cannot be avoided. For a student to be counted present for the day, they must be in attendance for half of the school day. Late arrivals are also discouraged.
