Helping Your Child at Home

- Have your child read nightly

- Read a book with your child; take turns reading

- Read to your child; model what you're thinking out loud & use expression while reading

- Talk about reading; ask your child questions about what they read

- Practice handwriting/cursive; refer to the pages we've covered in their binders for reference

- Have your child write about their day using capitals, complete sentences, punctuation, & details

- Revise work with your child

- Talk about word misspellings; have them try spelling again

- Practice math facts

- Complete extra practice and study guides sent home
